The latest story doing the rounds in the iPhone world is that TV Out for Apps is now a possibility. Erica Sadun over at Ars Technica found a new class in the latest iPhone 2.2 SDK called MPTVOutWindow. Apple already allow TV Output for Movies and TV Shows using their expensive Component or Composite cables. What is interesting about this find though is that with a bit of tweaking Moto Chaser developer Freeverse got their App running on a TV in a couple of hours. While the App did suffer a slight drop in frame rate (26fps down to 20fps) Freeverse state there is a lot more tweaking that can be done. Whether Apple plan on allowing Apps to use this feature remains to be seen, but with Macworld 2009 not far off, it could be a nice addition to the Keynote.
