iCal Formula 1 2009 Race Schedule [Updated]
Posted on February 15th, 2009 by tomacintosh in uncategorized, tags: formula 1, ical, shared calendersI’ve been fiddling about with iCal tonight, updating my subscribed calenders. I have a few stored in there, including a Formula 1 schedule for 2008. The person making it doesn’t seem to have updated it for the new season so I took upon myself to make my own! It took a while to list all the races, because I’ve also named the Circuits and put the race start times in. Once finished it’s simply a matter of right clicking on the Calender and choosing ‘Publish’. As a MobileMe subscriber things are made much easier because you can use your WebDAV enabled webspace to host the Calender.

[Update]
I’m in the process of adding every Practice and Qualifying session to all the Races, not only that I will be basing all times on GMT to make it easier for everyone around the world to work out when to get up!
NOTE: If you use and enjoy this Calender, please feel free to make a small donation by clicking the Donate button below, this will help me greatly in keeping everything up to date. Thank you.

Thanks for the calendar. Can’t wait for the season to start!
No problem, I’ll make sure it’s kept updated throughout the season with all the results as they happen. I’m looking forward aswell
Thanks for that! Been looking for one for a while.
One suggestion – can the times all be formatted for the same time zone (GMT?) rather than local time, so that you get the start time in your own country (i.e. Aus GP 5am in UK).
Hey Heckie, I’ll sort out the GMT times over the weekend. I might even add the Friday Practice and Saturday Qualy times while I’m at it
Thanks a lot! It’s exactly what I’ve looked for.
YAY! Thank you so much for doing this! cant wait for the season. gonna be another interesting year… hoping for BMW to attack!
Thank you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you – I just haven’t had the time to do it!
perfect! thanks. I can’t find a 2009 calendar on icalshare yet.
Excellent! Good job on adding last years results as well!
Keep it up!
Thanks very much for this! Saved me a load of time!
Nice one Tom – thanks
Many thanks, at a quick glance it looks like a really great calendar. Adding a note of the top 3 places in the 2008 race is a brilliant. Saves me having to check the stats I put together during the 2008 season.
Many Thanks!
Awesome! Thanks man. I was wondering if “the other guy” was gonna do one for 2009. Looks like he’s not. Thanks again!

merci just a question , how does that work if I am in a different time zone ?
Tom, The calendar is excellent. GMT times work a treat!! Now I know what time to get up and watch Jenson Button win a few races for Brawn GP!!
Ok i have clicked on the Subscribe now link about 5 times for it to tell me. Error subscribing to the calendar.
Any help would be great.
Cheers
Hi Trev, what version of iCal are you using?
Hey Tom, I’m using Version 3.0.6 (1273)
Just found this in the nick of time! Thanks very much, looks very useful.
Best Wishes
This is what I’ve been looking for! Thank you so much!

The best I found!
Enzo
Cheers!
Nice one, thanks!
Grrrreat ! Better than others have done in the past as it includes practices AND results. Way cool. Bravo ! Top step of the podium for you, tomacintosh
Thanks! Truly appreciated, hard to keep track of the changing practice, qualifying and race times.
Thanks. I tried the BBC one but they stopped after Australia, then found another that had the wrong race for this weekend. I wish that I had found yours first! Excellent job, thanks again
Hey Tom – Great calendar! Had been relying on the BBC to continue what they started for the Ozzie GP, but alas no. Then after a quick search I found yours.
A quick note to anyone using Google Calendar (like me):
- right click on the ‘subscribe’ button above and ‘Copy Link Location’ (firefox) or ‘Copy Chortcut’ (IE)
- in Google Calendar under ‘Other Calendars’ in left column click ‘Add’ and select ‘Add by URL’
- paste the link in the text box and click ‘Add’
- Voila! one 2009 F1 Calendar in your GCal
Hope that helps someone

All F1-2009 calendars found at iCalshare were incorrect, but after a while i found this one – thanks! this one seems to work, please put it in there (iCalShare) as well.
Thanks pal. I missed Monaco qualifying through trusting your calendar!
Great THNX!!
any idea how to do a time shift in iCal?
@Jaz – Monaco qualifying hasn’t even been yet!
@Timnl – Go into iCal Prefs > Advanced > Turn on Time Zone support, that might work
