I’ve been fiddling about with iCal tonight, updating my subscribed calenders. I have a few stored in there, including a Formula 1 schedule for 2008. The person making it doesn’t seem to have updated it for the new season so I took upon myself to make my own! It took a while to list all the races, because I’ve also named the Circuits and put the race start times in. Once finished it’s simply a matter of right clicking on the Calender and choosing ‘Publish’. As a MobileMe subscriber things are made much easier because you can use your WebDAV enabled webspace to host the Calender.

iCal

[Update]

I’m in the process of adding every Practice and Qualifying session to all the Races, not only that I will be basing all times on GMT to make it easier for everyone around the world to work out when to get up!

NOTE: If you use and enjoy this Calender, please feel free to make a small donation by clicking the Donate button below, this will help me greatly in keeping everything up to date. Thank you.

No problem, I’ll make sure it’s kept updated throughout the season with all the results as they happen. I’m looking forward aswell :)

  3. Heckie says:

Thanks for that! Been looking for one for a while.
One suggestion – can the times all be formatted for the same time zone (GMT?) rather than local time, so that you get the start time in your own country (i.e. Aus GP 5am in UK).

  4. tomacintosh says:

Hey Heckie, I’ll sort out the GMT times over the weekend. I might even add the Friday Practice and Saturday Qualy times while I’m at it :)

Thanks. I tried the BBC one but they stopped after Australia, then found another that had the wrong race for this weekend. I wish that I had found yours first! Excellent job, thanks again

  30. figgs says:

Hey Tom – Great calendar! Had been relying on the BBC to continue what they started for the Ozzie GP, but alas no. Then after a quick search I found yours.

A quick note to anyone using Google Calendar (like me):
    - right click on the ‘subscribe’ button above and ‘Copy Link Location’ (firefox) or ‘Copy Chortcut’ (IE)
    - in Google Calendar under ‘Other Calendars’ in left column click ‘Add’ and select ‘Add by URL’
    - paste the link in the text box and click ‘Add’
    - Voila! one 2009 F1 Calendar in your GCal

    Hope that helps someone

    Great THNX!!
any idea how to do a time shift in iCal?

  36. tomacintosh says:

@Jaz – Monaco qualifying hasn’t even been yet!

@Timnl – Go into iCal Prefs > Advanced > Turn on Time Zone support, that might work
